Job Description

Tim Steuber Pork is a family-owned and operated swine production company committed to raising healthy pigs through responsible, humane animal care. We are currently seeking an Experienced Nursery Caretaker to join our wean-to-finish operation. Position Overview The Nursery Herdsman will be responsible for the daily care and management of approximately 6,000 nursery pigs while maintaining high standards of animal welfare, barn performance, and facility upkeep. Responsibilities Daily observation and care of nursery pigs Administer vaccinations and medications as needed Monitor pigs for signs of illness and implement treatment protocols Maintain accurate production and health records Ensure proper ventilation, temperature, and environmental conditions Coordinate feed orders and monitor feed usage Perform routine barn maintenance and repairs Assist with general facility upkeep and biosecurity procedures Qualifications Previous swine production experience preferred Strong attention to detail and animal observation skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Valid driver's license required Commitment to animal welfare and responsible livestock care What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Company-provided work vehicle Flexible scheduling Paid holidays Every other weekend off Consistent schedule averaging 40-45 hours per week Typical work hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Opportunity to work in a family-oriented operation that values its employees
Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
