Job Description
St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Smithfield seeks a compassionate, patient, and attentive Nursery Care Provider. Our Nursery is a place where our youngest members of the Body of Christ are introduced to church as a safe and loving place that values them. We aim to create a space for our children to express themselves and grow in their ability to socialize with others. Purpose The purpose of a Nursery Care Provider is to:
- Create a welcoming and safe space for all children, infants through Preschool.
- Provide care and activities for children that encourage them to explore, create, play, and care for one another.
- Be a model of kindness and generosity. Duties The duties of a Nursery Care Provider are:
- Creating a welcoming and safe space, including ○ Maintaining a clean, well-organized, and welcoming nursery. ○ Warmly greeting parents and children when they come to the Nursery, ensuring the nursery is a place of joy, play, and friendship. ○ Cleaning and disinfecting tables, toys and other surfaces. ○ Noticing and carefully addressing the special needs of each child.
- Work collaboratively with church staff and nursery volunteers, including: ○ Assisting in all areas, including play, cleaning, teaching, and other activities. Accountability The Nursery Care Provider will report to the Rector. Availability & Responsibilities Nursery Care Providers are expected to:
- Work in the Nursery on Sunday mornings: ○ from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm during the St. Paul's program year (Sept
- May) ○ from 10:30
- 12:30 Memorial Day
- Labor Day ○ from 9:30
- 11:30 in the month of July
- If available, work at additional church functions throughout the year (typically during a weekday evening).
- Complete the Safe Church Training and pass a background check.
- Time off should be arranged with the Rector with at least two weeks' notice for anticipated absences.
Pay:
$20.00- $22.
