Plant Care Lead Swell Botanics Charleston, SC Job Details Full-time $22 - $28 an hour 14 hours ago Qualifications Maintenance work Compost tea fertilization Cultivation (fertilizing method) Attention to detail Granular fertilization Full Job Description Key ResponsibilitiesPlant Maintenance & Care Perform on-site plant maintenance 3x per week across both hotel properties Water, prune, shape, and monitor all interior plants Inspect for pests and treat using non-toxic methods when possible Monitor soil health, drainage, and root conditions Proactively identify and replace declining plant material Visual Standards & Presentation Ensure all plants are clean, polished, and guest-ready at all times Wipe containers, remove debris, and maintain top dressing (moss/soil) Rotate plants for even growth and consistent presentation Maintain a high level of detail in all guest-facing areas Inventory & Program Support Track plant health and flag replacements early Maintain organization of plant inventory and containers Support seasonal refreshes and plant upgrades Install & Logistics Support Assist with plant installs, swaps, and refreshes Help transport plants between studio and properties as needed Support larger installations and activations when required Hotel Coordination Work professionally and efficiently within guest-facing hotel environments Be mindful of guest experience while performing maintenance Coordinate access and timing with hotel staff as needed What This Role Requires This is a hands-on role involving physical plant care multiple times per week Regular lifting, carrying, bending, and standing Comfort working independently and maintaining a consistent schedule Ability to work early mornings or off-peak hours when needed Qualifications Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation Reliable, consistent, and self-directed Comfortable with repetitive, routine-based work Positive, professional demeanor in client-facing environments Preferred (but not required): Experience with indoor plant care or horticulture Experience working in hospitality or service environments Compensation & Schedule Full-time $22-$28/hour (based on experience) Consistent weekly schedule + additional hours for installs and support Why This Role Matters This position plays a critical role in maintaining the quality and consistency of our hotel environments.
