Job Description

Native Gardeners:
Our goal at Native Gardeners is to cultivate a way of landscaping that allows nature to flourish while giving the homeowner something they can be proud of and cherish for years to come. All this while utilizing the most appropriate native and friendly non-native plants for the client's yard. We avoid using toxic chemicals and pesticides that have become synonymous with problematic horticulture practices. Our installation and maintenance crew meticulously establishes each client's new space and continuously preserves the composition and health of the garden. Our nursery team helps DIY gardeners both in person and online select the best plants for their wants and needs. We are currently hiring entry level positions that start as hybrid nursery and maintenance. There is opportunity for growth and promotions within the first year.
Responsibilities:
Complete daily open and close procedures including some tidying/cleaning Watering all nursery plants Online sales packaging and fulfillment, customer follow-up Greet customers, and assist them as they shop Learn POS software and problem solve Receive large plant deliveries and stock nursery Load and unload truck for landscape installation and plant deliveries Assist in landscape installation, including plant placement Garden maintenance both at installed client's gardens and around the nursery including pruning, weeding, mulching, etc. Help monitor plant condition and implement proper care practices Maintain nursery appearance and cleanliness Assist other departments, and request help as needed to ensure sufficient staffing
Job Requirements:
Exceptional customer service and communication skills Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, throughout the year, adhering to safety standards Flexible hours during busy season including holidays and weekends when appropriate Must be able to lift 50lbs and be comfortable with physical work Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to multi-task to accommodate client preferences Ability to focus in a busy and noisy environment Willing to wear multiple "hats" and be a team player in a small business •Knowledge of native & adapted plants and planting material and ability to identify weeds, insects, and plant diseases is a plus but not a requirement as long as you have a curiosity to learn!
