Job Description

Lee County is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Parks & Recreation Maintenance Worker to help keep our community spaces safe, clean, and welcoming for residents and visitors. This position will report primarily to Kelly Road Soccer Complex and Harlem Heights Community Park. Whether you have experience in turf management or not, we are looking for someone who is the right fit and has an interest in athletics and outdoor maintenance. This role is essential to maintaining the beauty and functionality of our parks, community centers, and sports fields. You'll perform a variety of tasks that ensure these areas are enjoyable for everyone—from mowing and landscaping to playground inspections and ball field preparation. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and wants to make a positive impact in the community. What You Will Do Maintain parks, community centers, soccer fields, and other assigned areas Clean public restrooms and empty trash and recycling bins Pick up litter and debris to keep spaces safe and attractive Inspect playgrounds, equipment, and buildings for safety Perform landscaping tasks such as mowing, pruning, watering, and planting Prepare and maintain ball fields for youth and adult practices and games (dragging, spiking, edging, turf care) Supervise community service workers and volunteers Contribute to a positive, safe, and welcoming environment for all visitors What We're Looking For Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a High School diploma or GED Six (6) months of maintenance or related work experience Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Required Certifications (within six months of hire):
First Aid CPR Work Schedule:
