REQUIREMENTS
Two (2) years of experience in grounds and facility maintenance, and equipment repair, which includes six (6) months of experience with conservation land maintenance and related coursework in land management practices OR Associate's Degree in Environmental Sciences or a closely related field PLUS six (6) months of experience with conservation land maintenance and related course work in land management practices. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Experience operating heavy equipment, including mulching excavators, bulldozers, and various types of farming equipment is preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within six (6) months of employment, a valid First Aid certification and a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from an approved agency and maintain both certifications during the term of employment. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. The applicant will be disqualified from further consideration for the position if a Level I background criminal background investigation, performed in accordance with Brevard County Administrative Order 5 (AO-5), discloses the applicant has disqualifying convictions (as defined in AO-5). In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, fulltime permanent employees will be required to perform emergency duties as directed. $17.52 to $19.27 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. South Area/EEL Administrative Office/Travels Countywide Work schedule is variable and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Performs experienced land management work on conservation lands, maintaining habitats, trails, equipment, and related property facilities and structures.
