Department Culture Rec & Tourism-State Parks Opening Date 06/30/2026 Closing Date 7/14/2026 11:59 PM Central About this Job The Office of State Parks (OSP) serves the citizens of Louisiana and visitors by preserving and interpreting natural areas of unique or exceptional scenic value, planning, developing and operating sites that provide outdoor recreation opportunities in natural surroundings, preserving and interpreting historical and scientific sites of statewide importance and administering intergovernmental programs related to outdoor recreation and trails. This position is located at Lake Fausse Pointe State Park in St. Martinville, LA. The purpose of this position is to perform groundskeeping and custodial duties to help maintain cleanliness and a safe environment for the customers. This includes all rental facilities and grounds, including cabins, pavilions, trails, bathhouses, etc. This position will also assist in the front office, such as checking in guests, handling forms of payment, assisting customers, and completing office paperwork. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:
Ensure cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the buildings on site such as cabins, group camps, lodges, bathhouses, meeting rooms, etc. Duties would include but not limited to, disinfecting, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, mopping, sweeping, dusting, etc. Perform any and all custodial duties necessary to maintain clean and sanitary conditions. Removes trash and prepares dirty laundry for pickup. Stock buildings with cleaning and household supplies such as soap, toilet paper, sanitary supplies, paper towels, etc. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies Cleans & picks up litter/trash from bathhouses, campground areas, and day use areas. Assists with minor building maintenance such as air filters, light bulbs, etc. Assist with grounds maintenance such as mowing, blowing, trail maintenance, etc. as needed. Assists customers with questions and concerns. Provide park and local community information to customers.

This position may be filled as a Park Technician A, B, or C. As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled based on the qualifications of the selected applicant.
Work Schedule:
State Parks are open 365 days a year. Position will work a rotating schedule of 40 hours/week, which can include holidays and/or weekends as needed, to ensure coverage at the park.
Travel:
Position requires driving around the park as part of the daily shift. Travel may be required to other state parks to assist in staffing or events, as needed. A state vehicle is available for employee use while on duty.

Compensation offered will be dependent on level of experience and certification, so please be sure to include all education and work experience for consideration.
