Job Description

The Ashfield Park Commission seeks applications for a Park Attendant position. This is a seasonal, part-time, non-benefitted position starting approximately 7/9/26 and ending in the late summer or early fall. The primary responsibility will be to perform various day-to-day maintenance tasks at the Belding Memorial Park, a key asset in the Town of Ashfield. The Park Attendant will be expected to work at least 3 days per week during the summer totaling at least 6 but not more than 12 hours per week. The position will be compensated at rate of $20/hr.
Responsibilities include:
∙Remove and dispose of charcoal from grills ∙Pick up and dispose of trash from park, incl. from charcoal wastebaskets ∙Pick up and dispose of goose droppings ∙Pick up and dispose of fishing line and fishing hooks ∙Dispose of aquatic weeds from beach—which may require the use of a pickup truck ∙Sweep, monitor dock ∙Sweep, monitor tennis courts ∙Clean restrooms at the beach ∙Remove weeds and invasive plants from the park ∙Tend to planted areas ∙Minor repairs and painting ∙Report as required to the Park Commission ∙Other duties as assigned The Park Attendant must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and work independently, outside, and be comfortable handling light equipment (ropes, buoys, ladders, trash barrels, picnic tables, etc.). The Park Attendant will be expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrate good organizational skills.
