Campgrounds Park Ranger - SEWPH and The Hill Position Summary The Campgrounds Park Ranger maintains responsibility for the day-to-day operation, upkeep, and maintenance of: The Soaring Eagle Hideaway RV Park, which includes 67 upscale RV lots and common areas, beachfront, a pavilion, a clubhouse, a bathhouse, a laundry facility, hiking trails, a playground area, and support facilities. The Hill Camping and Recreation Area, which includes RV lots and tent camping lots, retail store and office, locker and shower facilities, and a built-in swimming pool facility. Although the Soaring Eagle Hideaway RV Park and The Hill are enterprises of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan, they operate under the Migizi Economic Development Company Policies and Procedures. Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities Administers park rules and regulations to ensure public and team safety while protecting and preserving natural resources. Demonstrates, leads, and coaches behaviors aligned with Migizi Guest Service Standards Administers park rules and regulations to ensure public and staff safety while protecting and preserving natural resources. Responsible for the cleanliness, state of repair, and appearance of all park facilities and structures, which includes, mowing camping lots and common areas, stocking firewood, grooming and maintenance of the beachfront area, and trash pick-up from the grounds and recycling program. Maintains proper operation of pool equipment and water quality at the pool facility. Notifies the Campground Supervisor of long-term infrastructure needs for repair, replacements, and upgrades; makes recommendations on changes to promote efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Enforces programs and policies for emergency preparedness to assure the protection of park guests, structures, and equipment. Responsible for maintaining a sufficient inventory of materials, parts, and equipment. Coordinates general repairs, including minor plumbing and electrical, site checks, and clean-up. Works closely with the Campground Supervisor to coordinate the work activities of lawn and ground maintenance. Assigns and oversees work performed by assigned team members. Demonstrate willingness to help visitors and Guests of the park with a variety of topics and issues. Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays. Performs other duties as assigned. Work Environment/Safety Hazards Required to frequently walk throughout the property. Prolonged standing, walking, occasional stooping, bending, squatting, and lifting of items in excess of 50 lbs. Use of hands, wrists, and fingers with use of hand tools and landscaping equipment. Exposure to chemicals relevant to pool chemical, pesticide, and lawn chemical application.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
18 years of age. Tribal Driver's License required Must possess and maintain a valid Michigan Driver's License Pre-employment background check Preferred Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe preference candidate
