Full Job Description General Function:

The Farm Maintenance position is a key role at the YMCA. Farm Maintenance staff members are responsible for maintaining the facility grounds to a standard of excellence for the Rowan-Cabarrus YMCA that our members and community can be proud to be a part of. It is expected that staff can work independently on tasks and when completed or other issues/items arise, staff are able to transition with ease.

Know How:

Incumbent must be service oriented and communicate effectively with members and staff. He/she must pass YMCA background checks and successfully complete and maintain CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to acquire them within 30 days of employment.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the following, but is not limited to: walking, standing, kneeling, climbing, crouching, jumping, heavy lifting 30 lbs., pushing 30 lbs., carrying 30 lbs., and vision. Must be able to work outdoors on occasion.

Job Segments:

Responsible for weeding (spraying weeds). Responsible for weed eating. Responsible for trash pickup and removal. Responsible for pressure washing. Responsible for grounds maintenance and outside projects, as directed. Responsible for mowing. Responsible for landscaping (mulch). Follows the cleaning chart schedule but is not limited to items on the schedule. Must follow YMCA policies and Code of Conduct. Responsible for learning emergency procedures. Effect on End Results YMCA members, guests and participants are safe at all times while in our facilities. Our branch facilities, as a whole, operate within budget guidelines. Our staff teams display a professional and positive attitude. Mission delivery. We lift others up helping them. By performing these functions and skills, well, Farm Maintenance staff members will assist the YMCA in retaining members.
