Position Summary This position supports the VIP program of the park, which is a force-multiplier to accomplish all visitor and resource protection duties. This position is important for the park to meet its obligations of maintaining seven-day-a-week visitor operations by covering gaps in staffing with volunteers. This position works closely with all park teams to support all park needs with volunteers. This position also works with all volunteers, from recruiting to offboarding. Location Jemez Springs, NM Schedule August 24, 2026 - August 20, 2027 Key Duties and Responsibilities The key duties for this position are working with VIP supervisors to assess VIP needs, develop position descriptions, recruit volunteers, track volunteer paperwork and hours, support volunteer training, complete all required volunteer reporting, maintain all government equipment pertaining to the VIP program, coordinate appreciation items and events, and lead volunteer-themed events. Marginal Duties Beyond those duties, this position will support visitor service operations (operate a visitor facility with exhibits, visitors, and bookstore sales), assist in employee trainings and outreach events, maintain government property, rove around the park to talk to visitors and record resource conditions, and support the rest of the team in any way possible. Required Qualifications This position needs a personal vehicle to commute to and from the park as in-park housing is only available seasonally. As they are also operating visitor facilities and accessing government systems, they will need to have the proper background clearance to have a PIV card and work unattended in a government facility. This SCA Position is authorized under the Public Land Corps Authority. All participants must be between the ages of 16 and 30, inclusive, or veterans age 35 or younger. Participants must also be a citizen or national of the United States or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States. Hours served can be applied toward the Public Land Corps (PLC) hiring authority. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of working with people of different backgrounds and ages, New Mexico Tribes, social media, and working with visitors are all very useful for this position. Hours 40 per week Living Accommodations If needed, the park can provide year-round housing at the park's Jemez Springs Housing Campus. Units are single-bedroom efficiency apartments with a common building for cooking, dining, laundry, and socializing. Apartments are furnished with bed, table, and chairs. Common building is furnished with cooking and eating supplies and internet.

Compensation Living allowance:
