POSITION SUMMARY
This entry-level seasonal position is designed for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience with basic service and maintenance tasks. The role supports the maintenance team in keeping facilities, grounds, and equipment clean, safe, and functional during peak seasonal operations.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions (These Duties are Performed with Supervision) The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not necessarily limited to: Assist with general light cleaning of facilities, equipment, and outdoor areas. Perform light landscaping duties such as raking, sweeping, watering, grass cutting, weed whacking/pulling. Assist with trash collection, litter pickup, and restroom cleaning. Visitor information services in interpreting park rules and regulations, and providing information about the Parks and the programs offered. Assist with maintenance needs for picnic groups, meetings, wedding groups, and assist at other special functions and park events, programs, and activities. Help set up and break down equipment for events or daily operations. Support basic repairs under supervision (e.g., tightening bolts, replacing light bulbs). Maintain tools and supplies in an organized condition. Follow safety procedures and report any hazards or issues to supervisors. Locking and unlocking the facilities. Assist with parking vehicles during large-scale park events.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Currently enrolled in high school. Minimum Age 16 years old. No prior work experience required. Must have parental/guardian consent if under 18. Must have a valid Work Permit issued by the School District. Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Must enjoy working with the public in an outdoor setting. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Basic understanding of safety practices. Willingness to learn and take direction. Good communication and teamwork skills. Dependable and punctual. Physical presence in the facility is required. Must obtain PA Act 153 Clearances.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift to 25 lbs for extended periods Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions May require the use of gloves, safety goggles, or other protective gear
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
