A Tree Climber or Trimmer trims and prunes trees. Clears away excess branches near utility lines or over roads or sidewalks. Prunes dead or diseased tree limbs to improve the appearance and health of the tree. Uses rigging equipment and may work from a truck powered lift; uses chain saws and other power equipment.
The City of Hampton is accepting applications for a full-time Stormwater Technician. The Stormwater Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining stormwater system sewer lines, storm water catch basins, and manhole access structures. This position is also responsible for working in compliance with the Environmental Protection Division (EPD) stormwater programs.
POSITION CONTEXT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit, stand, talk, and operate multiple types of equipment in varying degrees of temperature for an extended period of time.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Repairs and replaces drainage tiles, manhole structures, and catch basins using a variety of hand tools, trash pumps and hoses, pneumatic tools, and small power operating equipment; Performs landscaping duties such as grading slopes, seeding, cutting grass, trimming branches and removing trees and stumps from drainage ditches; Operates pick-up truck with utility trailer, dump trucks, utility concrete truck, utility location devices, sewer rodding, cleaning equipment, television equipment, jackhammer, portable air compressor, and jet vac cleaner; Overtime as required.

Ability to effectively handle citizen concerns when approached while being professional and courteous; Ability to relay information from the immediate supervisor to other crew members in a professional manner; Ability to work effectively in multiple settings and working conditions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Ability to work effectively and safely in confined spaces; Ability to safely operate equipment including pickup truck, dump truck, sewer rodding and cleaning equipment, mower, frontend loader, jet trucks, boom truck, bobcat and other equipment. Ability to safely operate a wide variety of hand and power tools, including hammers, shovel, chain saw, drills, torch, and other tools and equipment used in the construction, repair, and maintenance of sewer lines, manhole structures, and drainage ditches; Ability to physically perform assigned duties, including driving, sitting, standing and walking uneven terrain for long periods of time. Must be proficient using Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required and equivalent combination of training and/or work experience in related field; valid state of Georgia Driver's License (CDL preferred), with a safe driving record.
