Position Summary The Tree Climber is responsible for performing skilled tree maintenance and removal operations. This position involves climbing trees using ropes, harnesses, and other industry-standard equipment to prune, remove, or care for trees in residential and commercial settings. You'll work alongside experienced crew members and operate the kind of high-end machinery rarely available at local companies. For the right candidate, this role offers a clear path to advance into leadership or equipment operation positions. Key Responsibilities- Climb trees safely and efficiently to perform pruning, thinning, and removal tasks
- Operate chainsaws, hand saws, rigging equipment, and other tree care tools
- Perform aerial rescues as needed in accordance with safety standards
- Identify and assess tree health, hazards, and structural concerns
- Safely rig and lower large limbs and sections of wood to the ground
- Coordinate with the ground crew to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Maintain climbing gear and equipment
- Participate in daily safety briefings and uphold company safety standards
- Represent Bluestone Tree professionally when interacting with clients Qualifications
- 1-2 years of climbing experience in residential or commercial tree care (preferred)
- Proficiency in rope and saddle climbing techniques
- Familiarity with rigging and aerial rescue protocols
- Ability to operate chainsaws, chippers, and stump grinders
- CDL or ability to obtain one is a requirement. We are a CDL training School.
- Certified Arborist is a plus
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various outdoor conditions
