Job Description

Seasonal Technicians are specially trained personnel who perform basic wildlife activity services for landowners holding land parcels in a wildlife management valuation. These services typically include maintenance of wildlife management products such as wildlife feeders, rainwater collection systems, and songbird nest boxes. Additionally, Seasonal Technicians will perform fire ant treatments and, when needed, habitat control services. Seasonal Technicians are responsible for gathering field documentation utilizing a company issued iPad and must demonstrate effective communication with clients and coworkers to ensure customers receive excellent service. The Products & Services Team dispatches several technicians across multiple counties and regions to perform fire ant treatments and provide wildlife management services in general. As such, Seasonal Technicians must be able to reliably cover their assigned service appointments independently and at long distances from a base of operations or direct support. Good decision making, effective communication, and problem solving are required to make the best of challenging conditions. Newly hired Seasonal Technicians will train with a Team Manager or Level III Wildlife Technician. Typical areas of training will include basic First Aid/CPR, GIS data management, using Avenza Pro, operating four-wheel drive vehicles off-road, and properly securing a load. Additional training modules will be presented based on continuing staff development initiatives and for maintaining a safe work environment. Seasonal Technicians work under the direct supervision of a Team Manager or Level III Wildlife Technician with daily assignments provided by the Scheduling Coordinator in the form of service appointments. Once technicians are proficient in training, they will be dispatched independently in a company fleet vehicle to cover assigned service appointments on their own. Occasional use of personal vehicles will be required. Technicians work four (4) 10 hour days. The workday starts at 7:00 AM and ends at 5:00 PM. The work week starts on Monday and ends on Thursday.
