Job Description

Position Summary The Universal Banker, Market Development assists the Retail Banking organization with implementation of sales plans, quality member service and daily operations that support product sales and service objectives for Technology Credit Union (Tech CU). This includes, but is not limited to, opening new accounts, cross-sale activities, cash/transactions, loan services, business development, training, coaching and compliance. The incumbent will support all elements of the Service Level Agreement. The Universal Banker, Market Development is expected to work at any location where a staffing need is required, regardless of the type of need. These responsibilities and duties will be conducted while operating under the Tech CU policies, procedures and guidelines. Responsibilities Essential Duties Sales Opens/processes new member accounts, loan applications, and referrals in person and via Virtual Branch. Honors commitments to members, ensures member satisfaction, and proactively offers additional products/services while delivering excellent service in a timely manner. Engages in consultative sales techniques, actively develops new business, and expands existing relationships. Maintains current knowledge of Tech CU and competitor products. Accurately explains features and benefits of Tech CU products. Defines member needs, explains solutions, recommends action, handles objections in a consultative manner and actively promotes all access channels (i.e. Virtual Branch, Mobile, Online Banking, ATM network.) Builds clients relationships through active outreach. Participates in offsite business development events, such as professional networking, Member Company wellness fairs, Commnunity Partner activities, and outbound phone call campaigns. Staffs financial center promotions and events. Travels to other locations as directed by management Provides back-up for the 1st Mortgage Loan Processor including document collection, distribution of disclosures, file assembly and verifications while adhering to Credit Union policies and procedures as well as regulatory guidelines. Meets or exceeds sales goals ethically and in compliance with regulatory requirements. Enters qualified sales referrals into designated tracking system. Service & Operations Provides outstanding transaction/cash management. Receives and dispenses various denominations of coin and currency. Accurately processes all transactions. Handles each transaction efficiently and with appropriate discretion. May conduct daily close-out procedures, major vault transactions and transfers; conducts cash counts and audits when required. Opens, closes and balances cash drawer daily, ensuring proper handling of cash and negotiables. Serves in multiple, temporary assignments to provide coverage for Retail Banking positions such as Branch Managers, Sr. Relationship Bankers and others as necessary to ensure the smooth running of daily operations. Models exemplary member service and all Tech CU Service Level Standards. Supports and models Tech CU privacy and adheres to all applicable compliance and regulatory requirements Occasionally travels to and works in branches outside of home branch as directed by leadership. Maintains current knowledge of Tech CU products/services and competitive landscape. Participates in Tech CU training as guided by manager, including compliance, product knowledge and soft skills. Attends staff and company-wide meetings in person or virtually. Work Schedule Full-time; typically 37-40 hours/week 8:45am-5:15pm, M-F, rotating Saturdays 9:30am-2:30pm, local time. Occasional overtime Flexibility to occasionally work early or late hours, and extended weekend hours, typically with advance notice Workplace Essentials Supports Tech CU's Mission and Vision and consistently demonstrates Tech CU's Values (Accelerate, Collaborate, Innovate, & Cultivate). Meets with manager on a regular basis to discuss goal alignment, performance metrics, and development plans. Complies with Tech CU policies and procedures. Adheres to internal control and security measures designed to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate losses and errors.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in a business discipline or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
4+ years' experience in related disciplines, including exposure to leadership/management roles, business and consumer financial products, and related policies and procedures. Significant experience assisting members with a full range of financial products and services, including the resolution of escalated member issues.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong ability to participate, sustain performance and coach a high-energy team. Strong sales/service, leadership and team orientation. Strong organization and verbal/written communications skills. An understanding of financial products/services and industry regulations is essential. Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Licensing:
Upon employment, must enroll and maintain registration with Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS) under Tech CU's company registration.
Travel:
May be required to travel occasionally to Tech CU locations outside of home branch, typically with advance notice. May be required to occasionally attend offsite training, meetings or events, typically with advance notice. Overnight travel unlikely. Holds a clear & valid Drivers' License. Possesses current automobile insurance. Willing to travel as required and to drive one's own auto to conduct Tech CU business.
Typical Working Conditions:
Office environment with direct member interaction. May work remotely as determined by business need and individual performance.
Equipment Used:
Routinely uses standard office equipment, including computer, phone, copier and other devices.
Physical Requirements:
Sight to distinguish between various denominations of coin and currency Speaking and listening to interact with members and team in person, via phone, or video conference Standing for up to 4 hours per day Reading a computer screen and perform keyboarding tasks for up to 70% of the day Occasional bending or stooping to reach lower drawers Occasional lifting (25 pounds or less) may be necessary

Work Location:
The salary range listed is based on working in San Jose, CA . If you work remotely, your salary will be adjusted based on your geographic location.
Typical Starting Pay:
Most new hires start between the minimum and midpoint of the range (adjusted for work location if applicable), based on experience and qualifications.
Bonus Potential:
Target 7% of base salary based on company and individual performance. Tech CU is a pay-for-performance organization.
