We're not looking for someone who simply knows how to climb—we're looking for someone who can lead by example, communicate with customers and crew members, and complete challenging removals and pruning projects safely. What You'll Be Doing You'll perform a wide variety of tree care services, including: Large tree removals Technical rigging Precision tree pruning Crown cleaning Crown reduction Crown raising Hazard tree removals Storm damage response Emergency tree work Cabling and bracing Tree preservation Crane-assisted removals Climbing and aerial rescue operations Job site setup and safety Crew leadership and mentoring Every day brings something different—from helping a homeowner safely remove a hazardous tree to completing complex removals in tight urban environments. Responsibilities As an Experienced Tree Climber / Crew Leader, you'll: Perform safe and efficient climbing using modern climbing techniques. Lead climbing operations on residential and commercial job sites. Inspect trees and identify hazards before work begins. Plan rigging strategies that protect people and property. Operate chainsaws and climbing equipment safely. Communicate effectively with ground crews. Assist crane operators during crane-assisted removals. Mentor and train less experienced crew members. Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites. Represent Washington Tree Services with professionalism and integrity. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate has experience with: Rope and saddle climbing Modern climbing systems (MRS/SRS) Technical rigging Large removals Precision pruning Hazardous tree work Chainsaw operation Equipment inspections Job site safety Crew leadership You enjoy difficult removals, take pride in your work, and understand that safety always comes first. Minimum Qualifications Minimum 3 years of professional tree climbing experience. Strong knowledge of proper pruning techniques. Experience performing technical removals. Valid driver's license. Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in all weather conditions. Excellent communication skills. Positive attitude and strong work ethic. Preferred Qualifications The following are highly desirable but not required: ISA Certified Arborist ISA Tree Worker Climber Specialist CDL (Class A or B) First Aid / CPR Certification Crane removal experience Bucket truck experience Stump grinder experience Chipper experience DOT medical card What We Offer Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
