Primary Purpose:
To assist the bus driver in providing safe transportation to and from school for handicapped students.RESPONSIBILITIES
Major Responsibilities and Duties Assist the bus driver in loading and unloading students. Assist the bus driver in maintaining safe and orderly student conduct in keeping with District policy. Assist the bus driver with any emergency procedures as a result of student health or physical difficulties. Learn and communicate basic instructions with a variety of handicapped students. Attend in-service training programs as requested. Correct unsafe conditions that may exist in the work area that could cause an accident. Any conditions that are not correctable by you are to be reported to the supervisor immediately. Know and practice the proper safety procedures in operating machinery and equipment as required for the job. Know and practice safety techniques in lifting, climbing and performing other job duties. Attendance at work is an essential function. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee.EXPERIENCE

Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over), pushing, reaching above shoulders, use of fingers, walking (2 hours per day), standing (2 hours per day), kneeling (2 hours per day), repeated bending (2 hours per day), specific visual requirements, depth perception, ability to distinguish basic colors, specific hearing requirements.
