Job Requirements Barksdale AFB, LA Secret Polygraph Unspecified Career Level not specified Salary not specified Join Premium to unlock estimated salaries Job Description Duties Help The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the Senior Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer with overall supervision and management of either an Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, a Maintenance Squadron, an Equipment Maintenance Squadron or a Component Maintenance Squadron at an Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) unit-equipped or associate unit.
DUTIES:
Duty 1: Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the squadron. Manages assigned logistics resources and ensures production to meet operational requirements and technical standards. Duty 2: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities to include personnel and position management, equal opportunity, security, and safety. Advises employees regarding policies, procedures and directives of management. Duty 3: Represents organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external customers. THIS IS AN AIR RESERVE TECHNICIAN OFFICER POSITION.
This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer position located at 307 MAINTENANCE SQ with the military rank of
O-4, AFSC

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, SPECIALIZED
EXPERIENCE
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11 , or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes planning, directing, organizing, and coordinating activities of the squadron. (To be creditable, specialized perceived must meet the above quality level requirements.) Federal Time-In-Grade (TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS)
Positions:
Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-11 grade level or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
(KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Broad knowledge of aircraft maintenance management practices, procedures and organizational and mission requirements; capabilities and limitations. 2. Knowledge of basic operating principles of assigned aircraft systems and components; basic munitions, munitions procedures and quality assurance and other unit operations. 3. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures; Knowledge and ability to interpret instructions, specifications, technical orders, publications and operating procedures. 4. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors; Knowledge of maintenance information systems. 5. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources; Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS
This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) officer position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies (UTA). The incumbent's regular assignments are ART duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. May be required to fly in commercial and military aircraft to perform temporary/permanent duty assignments. This position is designated as a mobility position. Incumbent must be willing to move/transfer to another unit/ location on a lateral or promotion basis as directed by
HQ AFRC. AFRC
command-wide geographic mobility is a condition of employment for all ART Officer positions. The employee must sign a mobility agreement. May act in the absence of higher level supervisor up to and including the Group Commander. This is a key management position in which the incumbent is required to formulate, determine or influence training policies of the unit to which assigned. Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
