Aircraft Mechanic I - Egress (Plus Up)
Job Description:
FT/PT position" button. Relocation No Travel Possible Aircraft Mechanic I (Egress) is required to maintain and service F/A-18 environmental and egress systems/components as required and in accordance with applicable publications and governing instructions. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:- Services, repairs and overhauls aircraft environmental and egress systems to ensure airworthiness.
- Applies technical knowledge of airframes system principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mods, and recommends changes to installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
- Reads and interprets manufacturers and airlines maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, maintenance requirement cards, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
- Must be qualified on and work with some ground support equipment, special calibration equipment, and special tools.
- Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft.
- Shall be able to correctly prioritize workload to maintain schedules and maintenance standards on assigned projects.
- The Aircraft Mechanic I will work on all aircraft systems, beyond their field of expertise by working as a general Aircraft Mechanic I.

Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma or the equivalent is required.
- Must have 3 years o-level aircraft system maintenance experience.
- Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory.
- May be required to be licensed by Federal Aviation Administration. Navy Aviation Class A School (or military equivalent) with recent aviation experience may be substituted.
- Must have USN AME "A1" course completed along with CNATTU Safety Equipment required school for
F/A-18 E/F/G
prior to hire.- 18 months as a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI), Quality Insurance Inspector, or Inspector Authorization (IA) preferred.
- Minimum 36 months Organization level experience. Preferred to have 24 months F/A-18 experience within the last 36 months.
- Must complete CDI qualification syllabus and all qualifications to obtain CDI within 90 days of employment.
- Thorough understanding of DOD aircraft maintenance processes preferred.
- Must be able to obtain any additional qualifications or license required to maintain aircraft and qualifications.
- May be required to qualify in additional certifications such as Low Power Engine Turn-Up Operator (LPT), High Power Engine Turn-Up Operator (HPT), Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) and/or Plane Captain.
- Must be able to inspect and maintain all company and customer assets, including all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), in accordance with applicable directives, and ensure that those assets are utilized in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
- Must speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Obtain/maintain security clearance, DOD CAC privileges, and Special Access Badge requirements.
- Must be able to work days, nights, and weekends as required.
- Current valid U.S. Driver's License.
- Ability to travel
- Must participate in the training and qualification of new personnel.
- Must participate in required daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual training and ensure that it is documented in a timely manner.
- Must be willing and able to deal with the customer and company employees in a courteous and professional manner.
- Must have a working knowledge of aircraft technical orders/job guides/publications—read, interpret, follow, and comprehend schematic diagrams, drawings, charts, and technical publications.
- Must have working knowledge (aircraft/vehicle movement and safety/hazards) of flight line operations.
Working Conditions:
- Environment ranges from office to hangar and flight line and requires extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands.
- Must be physically able to perform duties as assigned and have the ability to lift 50lbs.
