WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Duties as the Dillingham Patrol Sergeant consist of first-line supervision with effective management and leadership skills for State Troopers assigned to the Dillingham area. This requires direct supervision and tracking of case investigations. Patrol duties require response to questions and complaints from citizens, criminal justice systems, and other agencies. This position will perform out of Dillingham, Alaska. The daily work environment consists of a small team of task-driven individuals. Incumbent will work closely with team members to support the mission.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Monitor and manage the post's caseload using ARMS management tools, shift briefings, and in-person interactions Skilled in writing clear and concise police reports and able to review and edit subordinate's reports Knowledgeable regarding policies and procedures outlined in OPM, SOP, Alaska Statutes, and Admin Manual Leadership skills teaching, mentoring, and evaluating trooper recruits Proficient in the use of ARMS, TRACS, and Microsoft Office Suite Sergeant must be collaborative, flexible and a problem solver and open to completing other tasks as assigned. More information about the Department of Public Safety can be found on our website: http://dps.alaska.gov/ Minimum Qualifications Three years of experience as a law enforcement officer certified by the Alaska Police Standards Council or by an equivalent agency in another U.S. jurisdiction outside the State of Alaska that is recognized by the Alaska Police Standards Council, where at least one year of the required experience is as a State Trooper with the State of Alaska, Department of Public Safety.Special Note:
Some positions, as identified by the department, may require specialized training or experience (investigations, vessel operation, or licensed aircraft pilot).
