Job Description

This is an AT-WILL position for which the attainment of non-probationary status (tenure) is not available . Grant funded; Continued employment is contingent upon funding. The UBMS Records Manager will provide direct support services to UBMS participants and provide administrative support through data processing, record keeping, reporting, evaluation, communication, scheduling, and other duties as assigned, under the direction of the Project Director. The UBMS Records Manager position is a part-time (18 hours/week) 12-month position dedicated to the Upward Bound Math & Science project.
Works Hours:
Varies, up to 18 per week. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications and must submit a complete application packet through the on-line application system to be considered. Applicants must provide information from previous employers documenting full-time related work experience if an offer is made. Assist in preparing reports, and disseminating information to participants, project staff, college administrators, faculty, staff, and the community. Assist with recruitment and selection of new participants. Provide office management and administrative support. Organize and maintain a confidential filing system and database on all participants and project activities and services. Assist in tracking UBMS participants for the purpose of collecting data on retention, graduation, grade point averages, and postsecondary enrollment rates for project evaluation. Serve as an advocate for disadvantaged students. Maintain professional conduct in dealing with students, staff, administration, faculty, and the College Community. Assist in providing On-Site tutors and participants with relevant instructional aids. Assist with UBMS summer activities, tutoring, and/or teaching when needed. Dispense necessary reports in a timely manner. Attend all called project and federal programs meeting appropriate to the position. Continue professional development through professional organizations, seminars, workshops, etc,; to maintain and improve skills. Perform other duties as needed to support and facilitate the essential functions of Upward Bound Math and Science Projects. EXPERIENCE
Minimum of an associate's degree in office management, accounting, business•or business-related field preferred. A minimum of at least one year's experience working in an office environment; proficiency in typing and in computer database management to generate reports for effective project management and for the U.S. Department of Education; demonstrable communication skills, both oral and written; excellent organizational skills; clerical and bookkeeping experience Experience working with TRiO, working with students of a similar background to the target population and/or familiar with working with the Blumen online system is preferred.
