Event Food & Beverage Operations/ Office Manager or Compliance Manager Position Summary The Alcohol Compliance Representative is responsible for ensuring all alcohol service at the event venue complies with local, state, and federal laws, as well as venue policies. This role promotes safe, responsible alcohol consumption, verifies legal drinking age, and supports staff in maintaining compliance standards during events. Key Responsibilities Compliance Monitoring Monitor alcohol service areas (bars, concessions, VIP areas) to ensure adherence to all applicable alcohol laws and regulations. Ensure all staff follow Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) guidelines. Identify and address violations of alcohol service policies promptly. Age Verification Check identification to verify legal drinking age. Ensure proper wristbanding or marking systems are in place for age-restricted access areas. Detect and confiscate fake or invalid IDs in accordance with venue policies. Staff Support & Training Assist in training staff on alcohol compliance and safe service procedures. Reinforce best practices for identifying intoxicated guests and handling difficult situations. Provide guidance to bartenders and servers on compliance-related issues during events. Guest Safety & Intervention Monitor guest behavior for signs of intoxication. Intervene appropriately and professionally when guests are over-served. Coordinate with security or management when situations escalate. Documentation & Reporting Document incidents involving alcohol misuse, refusals of service, or compliance violations. Complete reports accurately and submit them per venue procedures. Participate in post-event reviews to improve compliance processes. Policy Enforcement Enforce venue policies on alcohol sales and consumption. Ensure vendors and third-party partners adhere to compliance standards. Support adherence to licensing requirements and inspections. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience in hospitality, event operations, security, or alcohol service preferred Certification in Responsible Beverage Service (e.g., TIPS, ServSafe Alcohol) preferred or required within a specified time Strong knowledge of alcohol laws and regulations (local/state) Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations Strong attention to detail and observational skills Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and work evenings, weekends, and holidays Key Competencies Integrity and accountability Situational awareness Customer service orientation Conflict management Team collaboration Decision-making under pressure Working Conditions Fast-paced, high-energy event environment Exposure to large crowds, loud noise, and varying weather conditions (if outdoor events) Extended periods of standing and walking Flexible schedule based on event calendar Physical Requirements Ability to stand/walk for long durations (6-10+ hours) Ability to lift up to [25-50 lbs] occasionally Good vision and hearing for monitoring crowds and identifying issues Additional Notes Must comply with all licensing requirements for alcohol compliance roles Must be authorized to work in the United States Background checks may be required If you want, I can tailor this specifically for your venue (concerts, sports arena, festival, etc.) or make it shorter for a job posting.
