Job Description

at State of Delaware in Harrington, Delaware, United States Job Description This classification is a certified police officer responsible for conducting complex criminal and civil investigations and enforcing liquor, marijuana, and criminal statutes of the state. The incumbent will operate primarily in plain clothes, at times in an undercover capacity, perform inspections of liquor, tobacco, and marijuana establishments to ensure compliance with applicable laws, and draft and execute search warrants and arrest warrants. JOB REQUIREMENTS
for Alcohol & Tobacco Police Officer III Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: Possession of an active State of Delaware Council on Police Training Certificate or equivalent, OR eligibility for recertification per Delaware Administrative Code Title 1, Chapter 801, Section 8.0 Re-activation Requirements of Police Officers. At least three years experience as a Certified Police Officer. Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving). Three years experience in conducting investigations which includes conducting interviews to obtain confidential information, gathering evidence and documenting findings. Three years experience in ensuring compliance with alcohol and tobacco laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of staff training.
