Job Description

Allograft Skin Processor At The Living Legacy Foundation, you can be part of a committed health care team whose dedicated efforts can help save lives. As a not-for-profit health service organization providing organ procurement and tissue bank services, our primary mission is to enhance the quality of human life through the provision of human organs and tissues for transplantation. We are currently searching for an Allograft Skin Processor to join our team. This position will generally work between the hours of 10AM and 6PM with regular weekend work required. We are looking for someone who has a fairly flexible schedule in order to meet the demands of the department.
Responsibilities:
1. Participate in all aspects of the preservation and processing of skin from local donors.2. Will perform surgical scrub procedures in preparation for sterile technique in the processing laboratory.3. Ensure that tissue cultures and biopsies are retrieved from each skn processing site.4. Will perform the cryopreservation fo the skin.5. Will participate in the receipt and shipment of tissue and/or specimens.6. Will participate in the stocking of supplies used in skin processing, and will assist in the cleaining and maintenance of equipment and the processing laboratory.7. Will assist in the receipt and documentation of allograft tissue orders; will enter tissue orders into the database; will package and ship orders to customers.8. Will transfer and document tissue releases from quarantine for distribution.9. Will assist in monthly tissue inventory and client billing.
Requirements:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent2. Experience with aseptic technique required, preferably as a Surgical Tech or OR Tech.3. Ability to use basic math functions required4. General computer knowledge with data entry skills5. An attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively highly desired6. Ability to obtain and then maintain AATB Certification.
