Job Description
Under limited supervision, supervise and direct teams of the ALPAR Youth Litter Patrol program. Responsible for direct supervision of assigned youth litter teams ensuring safety and modeling productive behavior. Redirect and motivate if needed. Demonstrate safety features of equipment; distribute safety equipment including vests, eye protections, gloves, trash grabbers and other equipment. Ensure youth comply with safety procedures. Maintain records of activities and results, including youth timesheets. Coordinate patrol sites with youth and/or guardian; encourage recycling efforts. Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned. Ability to work independently. Knowledge of youth motivation techniques. Ability to utilize communication tools, such as vehicle radio. Ability to operate city-owned vehicles. Skilled in record keeping for grant funding requirements. High school diploma, GED or equivalent required. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have valid State of Alaska Driver's License at time of hire. Must submit proof of satisfactory driving requirements according to City of Wasilla driving guidelines.
