Experienced Horse Trainer

Alaska Horse Ranch is a horse training, riding lesson, showing, trail riding, facility located in Houston, Alaska. We can train year round we have a heated indoor arena.

Duties to include:

The main responsibility is helping with the training of new horses, working with baby horses, yearlings and 2 year olds to advance in their training, riding, exercising, guiding trail rides, and so on. A horse trainer is responsible for handling all types of horses. They are also responsible for catching horses in pasture and bringing them down. A horse trainer must have experience working with untrained horses, nervous horses, problem horses, young horses, and stallions. Must be able to work around horses in various ways and locations, including horse shows.

Job requirements:

• This is a position which will rely heavily upon previous experience, strong horsemanship skills and even success as a professional rider.
• You must be at least 21 years old
• You must be able to pass a background check
• You must live within 20 miles of mile 53 parks highway, Houston, AK
• A can-do attitude
• Animal oriented mindset
• Not afraid of working hard, getting dirty while having fun
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
• Must be able to dress appropriately for all weather types

$800 / week Expected hours: 40+ per week

Schedule:
