The Ambulatory Nursing Manager is responsible for coordination of services and patient flow in the Ambulatory Care Department, supervision of nursing and support staff in the Ambulatory Care Department and works under the clinical direction of the clinic's Medical Director.STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS
All employees of Stockbridge Munsee Community must meet the following qualification: Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug and health screening. Must be at least 18 years of age, unless otherwise stated on job description Must maintain an acceptable departmental attendance record Must be available to work weekends, nights and holidays Must obtain and maintain Elder/Youth License as stated on job description.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides supervision and direction of nursing and other paraprofessional staff in Nursing Department. This includes provision of orientation, scheduling, provider scheduling, and staff development for RN's, LPN's, medical assistants, reception/scheduling, and related staff. Participates in provision of ambulatory nursing care as needed. Provides patient education to patients and family and assists in development and operation of of clinic services. Coordinates patient education, specialty clinics. Assist Medical Director with establishment of disease registries, development of patient care protocols, and case management of high volume patient diagnoses. Coordinates and participates in administrative activities related to policy and procedure development, accreditation, quality assurance, clinical services, medical records, and infection control. Develops of ambulatory nursing policies and procedure, and oversees related quality assurance activities, monitors, and audits. Devises a curriculum and supervises students who wish to learn about health services for the Stockbridge Munsee Health Center. Is responsible for the preparation of orientation material,onboarding and orientation of all nursing staff. Maintains a current record of nursing competency evaluations. Oversees patient flow through the medical department. Oversees the telephone and in-clinic triage. Maintains adequate inventories of consumable supplies and expendable equipment in the Medical Department. Ensures that periodical and/or preventative maintenance is done on all Medical Department equipment and shall maintain a file of instructional manuals for equipment while monitoring the need for new equipment. Organizes orientation for Physician recruits, Nurse Practitioners, and students to the clinic under the direction of the Medical Director. Receives and screens patients to obtain blood pressure, height, weight, temperature, pulse, respiration, and initial complaint as needed. Is responsible for monthly and semi-monthly reports. Prepares patient for and assists with examinations. Administers medications, treatments, and other nursing services according to scope of practice. Coordinates the Vaccines for Children Program including monitoring budget, submitting reports and meeting grant requirements. Maintains the immunization inventory while administering vaccinations under the proper programs. Schedules and facilitates staff meetings. Provide administrative support to medical providers. Maintains an acceptable departmental attendance record, andis reliable and prompt when reporting to work. May be required to satisfactorily complete an exam or other testing requirement(s) to determine skill proficiency. Attends job related, in-service, meetings, and training to maintain professional and technical knowledge, organizational requirements, and accreditation/regulatory mandates.. Adheres to tribal law and other applicable laws as well as tribal personnel policies and procedures. The duties and responsibilities will be subject to change based on organizational needs and/or deemed necessary by the supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS
Registered nurse with a degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing. BSN RN Preferred. Minimum of one year of hospital experience is preferred. One year of supervisory experience and/or experience in administration is required. Must hold a license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin. Must have one-year computer working experience. Must submit to a Criminal Investigation Background Check. Must be able to work in a multi-cultural environment,with a diverse clientele, and demonstrate cultural sensitivity Must have demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer service to all including patients who may not feel well and are not easy to serve, all employees of the clinic, supervisors, and to direct reports Must have demonstrated ability to maintain satisfactory working record in any prior or current employment. Must be able to meet physical requirements of position Must submit and pass a background security check to meet the Elder/Youth License Requirement as it pertains to the position and the location of the department prior to and during the course of employment with the Stockbridge-Munsee Community. Must pass pre-employment drug and health screening. Must adhere to the Tribe's Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment. Must abide by departmental and organizational safety, testing, and uniform guidelines.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires a lot of sitting with occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Evening and/or weekend is required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required. Work environment requires excellent personal hygiene due to working in close proximity to others and in an enclosed area.
