Job Description
Join Our Team as an Ancillary Services Specialist at Caribou Medical Center (Soda Springs, ID) The Ancillary Services Coordinator plays a key role in supporting patient care by coordinating radiology scheduling, prior authorizations, and imaging uploads. This position also assists with pathology documentation and serves as a liaison between clinical staff and external service providers to ensure timely and accurate handling of ancillary services.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Radiology Scheduling :
Coordinate and schedule diagnostic imaging appointments (e.g., MRI, CT, X-ray) in collaboration with patients, providers, and radiology departments. 2.Prior Authorization :
Obtain insurance prior authorizations for imaging studies and other ancillary procedures; follow up on pending requests to ensure timely approval. 3.Imaging Uploads :
Receive and upload MRI and other imaging data into electronic medical record (EMR) systems to ensure accessibility for providers. 4.Pathology Support :
Assist with tracking and processing pathology reports; ensure accurate filing and follow-up on outstanding results. 5.Communication & Coordination :
Act as a point of contact between clinical teams, radiology/pathology departments, and insurance companies. Resolve delays or discrepancies promptly. 6.Documentation & Record-Keeping :
Maintain up-to-date records in the EMR; document all communications and authorizations in accordance with practice standards. 7.Insurance:
Manage and coordinate insurance claims, verifications, and communications to ensure accurate coverage and timely processing. Additional Duties asAssigned :

This job operates in a hospital setting on-site. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the hospital. This role may come in contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. There may be risk of exposure to blood and bodily fluids, latex, and odors/chemicals. There is potential exposure to unpredictable behavior from patients and families.Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hours and shifts will primarily be Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; 8 hours per day but these may change as needs of the department/hospital change. Must be physically and mentally able to work extended hours when necessary.Required :
High School Diploma or GED Experience in customer service, strong communication and organizational skills; proficiency in relevant software applications Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.Preferred:
CNA Experience with insurance Healthcare prior authorization experience Familiarity with insurance plans, medical terminology, and procedures. 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in radiology coordination, prior authorization, or medical records. Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Cerner) Knowledge of medical terminology, imaging procedures, and insurance processes.Similar remote jobs
