Position Details Pay Rate:

$12.00 per hour

Hours:

24-32 hours per week

Shift:

8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Weekend & Holiday Availability is

Requirements Valid Driver's License Reliable transportation Dependable attendance is a MUST We do not tolerate frequent call-offs, as the care and wellbeing of the animals depend on reliable staff coverage. Job Responsibilities This position involves hands-on daily animal care and shelter maintenance, including: Feeding cats and dogs Cleaning kennels, cages, litter boxes, and shelter areas Administering medications as needed Monitoring the health and wellbeing of animals Assisting with maintaining the exterior property Organizing storage sheds and supplies Laundry, dishes, and general sanitation duties Working safely and compassionately with both cats and dogs What You Should Know Before Applying Working in animal welfare is rewarding, but it is also physically and emotionally demanding. This is not a job where you sit behind a desk. You will be on your feet most of the day, lifting, cleaning, handling animals, and responding to constantly changing situations. At Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA, no two days are the same. Because we are an active animal shelter, emergencies, medical situations, new intakes, and unexpected challenges can happen at any time.

Our mission is to provide compassionate care, medical treatment, rehabilitation, and safe shelter while helping animals find loving forever homes. Staff members play a critical role in maintaining the physical health, emotional wellbeing, and daily comfort of every animal in our care. Animal shelter work can be heartbreaking at times, but it is also incredibly meaningful.
