Job Description

Monday-Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm
Job Summary:
Performs and controls anodizing operations on titanium orthopedic implant components to achieve specified oxide thickness, color, surface condition, and cleanliness in accordance with medical device quality requirements. Responsible for cleaning, racking, and anodizing titanium surgical implants.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Titanium Anodizing Operations Perform titanium anodizing processes per controlled work instructions, travelers, and validated process parameters (e.g., voltage profiles, time, temperature, electrolyte condition, agitation, and load configuration).
Prepare parts for anodizing:
receiving verification, part count, traveler review, handling controls, and pre-checks for damage or contamination. Execute proper part handling and movement through designated steps such as pre-cleaning, rinsing (DI water), anodizing, final rinsing, drying, and interim protection/packaging per instruction. Set up and verify equipment readiness: power supply settings, rectifier connections, tank levels, probes, timers, and safety systems. Rack/fixture parts using approved tooling to ensure consistent electrical contact and uniform anodize results; verify masking requirements and coverage where applicable. Quality, Inspection Support & Compliance Verify anodize results meet print/spec requirements for color/shade range (if color-coded), cosmetic acceptance, uniformity, and surface condition.
Ensure lot traceability:
maintain part/lot identity through all steps; reconcile counts; prevent mix-ups.
Complete accurate and legible documentation:
travelers, batch records, bath logs, inspection check sheets, and electronic systems entries. Follow controlled handling practices for medical implants: clean gloves, designated containers, surface protection, and contamination controls. Safety & Environmental Responsibilities Follow all required PPE and safety procedures for chemical handling and electrical equipment. Use proper chemical labeling, storage, spill response steps, ventilation/exhaust requirements, and waste handling per site EHS rules. Maintain a clean, organized anodizing area using 5S principles; keep tools and fixtures controlled and in good condition. All other duties as assigned.
Education:
High School or GED Experience:
1+ years
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret travelers, routings, work instructions, and basic engineering drawings (including finish notes). Comfortable working with chemical process tanks and electrical power supplies under strict safety rules. Ability to work independently without supervision. Special attention to detail is required. Ability to perform diversified tasks. Ability to follow directions, learn new processes, and written documentation skills such as inspection reports, set up sheets, etc. High emphasis on cleanliness, contamination prevention, and traceable processing due to implant applications. Ability to wear required PPE (gloves, apron, face shield/safety glasses) and work near process tanks. Lift/carry daily of 5-10 lbs and occasionally up to 25-50 lbs with or without assistance. Frequent handling of small parts and fixtures; good manual dexterity. Any experience in titanium anodizing or closely related titanium finishing role OR equivalent combination of training/experience is highly desirable
Work Environment:
Work performed in a production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high, in some areas. Work with and around chemical processing tanks, ventilation systems, and electrical equipment. Exposure to fumes/odors and wet environments consistent with anodizing operations (controlled with PPE and engineering controls).

$35,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
