An Elementary Teacher is responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students. They design and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum standards, foster students' academic, social, and emotional growth, and assess student progress through various methods. The teacher adapts instruction to meet diverse learning needs, encourages critical thinking, and promotes a love of learning. Collaboration with colleagues, communication with parents, and maintaining a safe classroom atmosphere are essential components of the role.Qualifications:
Possess or be eligible for a valid Delaware teaching license and be certified as Elementary Teacher in accordance with 14 Del. C. § 1521 Special Education Teacher of Students with Disabilities in accordance with 14 Del. C. § 1571 preferredPerformance Responsibilities:

Demonstrate a strong understanding of effective classroom instruction, including curriculum development, lesson planning, differentiated instruction, classroom management, and data-driven decision making to support student achievement. Develop and implement standards-aligned lesson plans that address the diverse academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students. Create and maintain a safe, structured, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment conducive to effective learning within district resources and expectations. Establish clear behavioral expectations and encourage students to develop responsibility, accountability, and respect for themselves and others. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, teaching methods, technology tools, and instructional media to meet the needs and abilities of individual students and student groups. Analyze academic and behavioral data to monitor student progress, identify areas of need, and implement appropriate interventions and supports. Continuously improve instructional practice by implementing current research-based teaching strategies and participating in professional growth opportunities. Support and implement the district's philosophy of education, curriculum standards, instructional goals, and school improvement initiatives. Assess and evaluate student progress regularly using formal and informal measures, and maintain accurate, complete, and legally compliant student records and documentation. Maintain open and professional communication with students, families, staff, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, and concerns. Collaborate with teachers, specialists, administrators, and support staff to plan instruction, address student needs, and promote student success. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of students, materials, equipment, and facilities. Uphold and enforce school rules, district policies, administrative procedures, and Board regulations in a fair and professional manner. Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, organization, effective time management, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced educational environment. Participate in professional learning communities, district initiatives, and other assigned duties in support of school and district operations.Terms of Employment:
