Immediately Job Description The Food Service Director oversees all elements of the delivery of the District's school lunch program, including providing direct supervision of all food service employees.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Maintains compliance with all district policies and procedures 2. Oversees the Food Service program at all three schools 3. Hires, supervises, and evaluates all Food Service employees 4. Plans monthly menus for breakfast and lunch programs, and making modifications to the menus as needed 5. Accepts and checks product deliveries, verifies invoices, and places delivery items in the proper location 6. Completes ordering of all needed food and supplies to support the Food Service program 7. Creates and maintains production records for all kitchens, ensures leftovers are accurately recorded on a daily basis 8. Keeps on file nutritional information on all items served, including information on allergens contained in food items 9. Keeps copies of all standardized recipes used, along with all child nutrition labels from manufacturers 10. Establishes and maintaining the budget for the Food Service program 11. Oversees the training of all Food Service staff members 12. Develops Standard Operating Procedures to be kept in the HACCP manual, and update it on a yearly basis as needed 13. Maintains communication with state and federal officials as needed 14. Performs general work connected with the operation of food service, including food preparation and handling 15. Assists with cooking and baking as needed 16. Serves breakfast and lunch to students and staff 17. Assists with the washing and drying of pots, pans, trays, and silverware following proper cleaning guidelines 18. Assists with the cleaning of the Cafeteria/Commons spaces after meals are served 19. Follows all food safety guidelines as outlined by state and federal agencies Education and/orWork Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
- Experience in food nutrition work preferred
- Proper food service licensure required, including Serve Safe certification
- Yearly professional development and training required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the
ADA, FMLA
and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
