Aug 19, 2026 Job Description Special Education Teacher 2026-2027 School Year The Windham Southeast School District (WSESD)/Windham Southeast Supervisory Union (WSESU) is an increasingly diverse community with an ongoing commitment to social justice and anti-racism. We are looking for enthusiastic professionals to join us in furthering this work (www.wsesu.org/socjus). The successful candidate will be able to effectively discuss how they work with historically marginalized demographic groups of students. WSESU is seeking a 1.0 FTE Special Education teacher to work at Academy School for the 2026-27 school year to provide direct instruction for students with disabilities. Applicants must have familiarity with multi-layered systems of support, experience and skill differentiating academic curriculum, ability to collaborate with classroom teachers and paraeducator staff, proficiency in teaching specialized literacy and math curriculum, competence in using technology to facilitate student communication/learning, expertise in data collection and formative assessment, and experience implementing positive behavior intervention plans. Knowledge of Vermont special education regulations, compliance procedures, trauma-informed practices, and disability characteristics is essential. Applicants must be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Vermont AOE as a Special Education Teacher, Consulting Teacher or Intensive Special Education Teacher. Successful candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and proficiency in the Google platform. This position follows the WSESU school calendar.
