Apartment Make Ready Technician

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Apartment Make Ready Technician to prepare residential units for new tenants efficiently and to the highest standards. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring that apartments are move-in ready by performing a variety of maintenance, repair, cleaning, and cosmetic tasks. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive cleaning, painting, repairs, and touch-ups to prepare apartments for occupancy. Conduct electrical and mechanical troubleshooting using schematics, ohmmeters, and programmable logic controllers where applicable. Execute plumbing repairs, electrical installations, and minor carpentry tasks with precision. Utilize facilities maintenance systems (CMMS) to document work performed and track maintenance requests. Assist with welding, residential painting, and other specialized tasks to ensure units meet quality standards. Supervise or collaborate with team members on make-ready projects, ensuring timely completion while maintaining safety protocols. Inspect units thoroughly using schematics and technical knowledge to identify issues requiring attention before move-in. Communicate effectively with property management and residents regarding work status or additional needs. Experience Proven experience in facilities maintenance or residential property repairs, ideally within apartment communities or manufacturing environments. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by electrical experience and familiarity with schematics and troubleshooting tools such as ohmmeters. Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience overseeing maintenance teams or projects. Skilled in welding, painting, plumbing, and general repair techniques aligned with residential standards. Knowledge of CMMS software for work order management and documentation is preferred. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in English across diverse teams and residents.
