We are currently seeking a licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to work collaboratively with our Rheumatology Department .Requirements include:
Current Connecticut State APRN License Rheumatology experience preferred Responsibilities include: Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. Duties include conducting physical exams, ordering and interpreting lab tests and imaging, prescribing medications, and educating patients about disease management and lifestyle modifications. Collaborate closely with rheumatologists and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate individualized treatment plans. Assist with in-office procedures, such as joint injections or aspirations, and provide ongoing follow-up care to monitor disease progression and treatment effectiveness. Prescribe medications, including disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), biologics, and corticosteroids, in accordance with evidence-based guidelines Monitor the effectiveness of treatments and adjust plans as necessary based on patient response and side effects Provide clear, comprehensive education to patients regarding their diagnosis, treatment options, lifestyle changes, and self-management strategies Chronic Disease Management Monitor and manage long-term follow-up for patients with chronic rheumatologic conditions, ensuring appropriate screening and preventative care Address flare-ups and complications promptly, adjusting management plans as needed Experience or interest in caring for patients with complex rheumatologic conditions, disease-modifying therapies, and evolving treatment paradigms is highly valued.
