The Appliance Technician is a key member of the Engineering Department, responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial appliances throughout the resort. This role directly supports guest satisfaction, operational continuity, and life safety by ensuring all appliances and commercial laundry equipment are maintained in safe, reliable, and efficient working condition. The Appliance Technician works closely with Housekeeping, Laundry, Culinary, and Engineering leadership to minimize downtime and maintain brand standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on hotel and resort appliances, including: Commercial laundry equipment (washers, dryers, extractors, ironers, folding and finishing equipment) Guestroom appliances such as refrigerators, microwaves, ranges, and in-room kitchen equipment Back-of-house and culinary equipment including dishwashers, ice machines, refrigerators, freezers, and warming units Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, and control system issues using appropriate tools and test equipment. Dismantle, inspect, repair, and reassemble equipment components to restore proper operation and extend equipment life. Replace or repair defective components including motors, bearings, belts, switches, valves, heating elements, and control devices. Conduct routine inspections to identify potential failures and address issues before they impact guests or operations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including daily lint removal, around laundry and mechanical equipment. Respond promptly to work orders, service requests, and emergency repair situations in guest-facing and back-of-house areas. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with manufacturer specifications, safety standards, and applicable local, state, and federal codes. Document all maintenance and repair activities in the property's work order or CMMS system. Coordinate with outside vendors and service contractors for specialized repairs, warranty work, or equipment commissioning. Communicate effectively with Housekeeping, Laundry, Culinary, and Front Office teams to minimize guest disruption. Support departmental initiatives related to preventive maintenance, energy efficiency, safety, and asset preservation. Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned by Engineering leadership.

What We're Looking For:

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training preferred. Minimum of [3] years of appliance repair experience in a hotel, resort, hospital, or commercial facility. Demonstrated hands-on experience maintaining and repairing commercial laundry equipment required. Strong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and basic plumbing systems. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals. EPA certification (Type I or Universal) preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in hot, humid, and fast-paced environments. Valid driver's license preferred. Skills and Competencies Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Excellent communication and customer service skills Understanding of hospitality standards and guest-focused service Proficiency with mobile devices, CMMS systems, and basic computer applications
