Salary Range $67,000.00 - $75,000.00 Salary Job Shift Any Description Position Summary The Application Engineer II role provides intermediate technical support to sales and customers, creates intermediate layout drawings and assists in coordination of newly developed products, while maintaining safe work practices. This role reports to the Engineering Manager. Accountabilities + Sales Engineering + Documentation & Drawings + Cross-Training & Development Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Provide intermediate technical assistance and expertise to sales representatives and customers regarding the application of existing or modified Prinsco products. + Provide project specific CAD support for sales team to increase proactive sales efforts, increase Prinsco presence among Engineers, and help to increase project win rates. + Provide support for Quality, Manufacturing, or other internal technical initiatives as projects arise. + Assist in the coordination of newly developed product/process improvements or other research programs within the manufacturing facilities. + Interface with manufacturing, engineering, and quality to assist in gaining improvements in process and products. + Support field testing and data collection for product validation and industry accreditation. + Develop lab tests to simulate real world applications of products. + Convert engineers' rough sketches into appropriate working drawings. + Create intermediate detention system layout drawings to assist in the bid/quoting process. + Create intermediate fabrication details for fittings/custom components. + Develop and evaluate technical drawings to aid in the sales and specification process for stormwater detention systems, water quality products, and custom fittings. + Evaluate take-offs and Engineer's designs to ensure designs meet product performance capabilities. + Develop sales tools and systems (calculators) to increase efficiency and reduce costs. + Maintain master file drawing library for Sales Project Drawings. + Provide drafting and technical support for research and development initiatives. + Provide drafting and technical support for process improvement and other related operations initiatives. + Focus on cross-training, continuous learning and improvement. + Complete other duties as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in mechanical or civil engineering and a minimum of two years engineering experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment. + Successful passing of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. + Strong influencing skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization. + Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to analyze data/facts/drawings to support valid conclusions and to solve practical problems or deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. + Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. + Proficient with MS Office products and AutoCAD experience required with 3D software experience preferred. + Ability to lift to 50 pounds, occasionally. + Valid driver's license with the flexible to travel up to 10% to manufacturing sites.
