MACOM designs and manufactures semiconductor products for Data Center, Telecommunication and Industrial and Defense applications. Applications Engineer - Senior The engineer in this role will support our module programs, with a focus on RF measurements. We are looking for someone with several years of test experience, who is comfortable in the lab and can begin performing measurements quickly. We would also like someone who is a strong communicator and is comfortable working on a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic setting.Specific Responsibilities:
Set up, validate, and perform module-level RF measurements. Analyze large volumes of measurement data and use statistics to characterize device behavior. Present results in a clear manner and communicate findings both internally and to customers. Support the production test team and travel to the production facility as needed. Collaborate with design and product engineers to troubleshoot challenging issues. Perform assembly tasks such as soldering and wire bonding while debugging. Train junior engineers, technicians, and operators on measurement procedures and best practices. Qualifications /Skills:
A BSEE or similar degree and 3-5 years of experience in a related position are required. A MSEE degree is preferred or equivalent experience. Ability to work in a team environment and strong communications skills are essential. Solid understanding of basic RF systems, VSWR, transmission lines, coax cable losses, RF line components, and active devices. Proficiency with measurement instruments, including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, arbitrary waveform generators, and oscilloscopes. Ability to calibrate and perform RF measurements, such as S-parameters, AM/AM, P1dB, IM3, NPR, and spectral analysis. Knowledge in using lab instrumentation such as multimeters, SMUs, and power supplies. Experience with standard data processing tools such as ADS, MATLAB, and/or Python is preferred. A background in MMIC and/or module level design and evaluation is a plus. Ability to document work performed, including procedures, setup diagrams, test data, and results. Good analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to details. Capable of working independently in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. The Salary Range for this position is $97,000- $168,000. Actual salary offered to candidates will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates' experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.EEO:
