APPRENTICE TOOLMAKER / MACHINIST

position open at Alliance Broach and Tool. We are looking for someone who wants to learn new skills in the world of custom tool making. We want someone that is willing to come to work and is not afraid to get their hands dirty. For this position, you will have hands on training of milling, grinding, sharpening and gear grinding. Our machines are both manual and CNC. Applicants should have good math skills, be ready to learn, be punctual and have reliable transportation. Some overtime may be required. Some Responsibilities include:

• Read blueprints, sketches, or computer-aided design (CAD) files to determine dimensions and tolerances of the finished workpiece
• Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation for machining operations
• Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers and other hand tools to verify the tool is in conformance to specifications
• Make adjustments to machine settings as necessary to ensure proper functioning and quality of output
• Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot issues and improve machining processes
