Arborist Assistant

Responsibilities Assist with tree trimming, pruning, and planting projects to promote healthy growth and safety. Support arborists in rigging operations to safely lower limbs or sections of trees during pruning or removal. Operate bucket trucks and bucket lifts to access high branches efficiently and securely. Help with landscape maintenance tasks such as lawn care, planting, mulching, and general yard cleanup. Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to assist with mapping and site assessments for tree health monitoring. Participate in growing experience activities related to horticulture practices and tree care techniques. Ensure safety procedures are followed during all operations, including the proper use of equipment and protective gear. Qualifications A strong interest in tree care, landscaping, or horticulture with a desire to learn and grow within the industry. Basic knowledge of landscaping or lawn care is a plus; previous experience is not required but appreciated. Familiarity with rigging techniques or bucket operation is advantageous but not mandatory—training will be provided. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards. Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Growing experience or coursework related to horticulture or environmental sciences is preferred. Must be able to follow detailed instructions carefully and communicate effectively with team members.
