Job Description

Position Summary, Duties and Responsibilities The Archery Range Instructor assists with the daily operation and instruction at the district's new outdoor archery range. This position is responsible for leading safe, engaging, and educational archery programs for participants of all ages and skill levels. Duties include teaching proper form and technique, maintaining a safe environment, setting up and inspecting equipment, and supporting community use of the range. Instructs and coaches guests in the indoor/outdoor archery range environment. Responsible for all equipment at all times. Maintains all equipment. Provides guests with top-tier archery range programs and completes range tasks. Ensures range safety procedures are followed at all times. Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, and safe work area. Lead beginner and intermediate archery classes, clinics, and open range sessions in accordance with safety standards and District policies. Instruct participants on proper shooting form, range etiquette, and equipment care. Conduct equipment checks and ensures all gear is in safe working condition. Monitor participant behavior and enforce range safety rules at all times. Assist with range setup and takedown for programs and events. Support public access hours by greeting visitors, answering questions, and monitoring range use. Maintain accurate attendance and incident reports as needed. Assist with community events, youth camps, and outreach programs promoting archery and outdoor recreation. Perform light facility maintenance and upkeep of the range area. Job Qualifications Must be at least 16 years old. Previous experience teaching or participating in archery programs preferred. Certification as a USA Archery Level 1 or higher Instructor (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire). Knowledge of range safety standards and equipment use. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED preferred. CPR, first aid, and AED certifications are required, or the ability to obtain them within 60 days of hire. Work Environment Work Environment Work may take place in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions including sun, heat, cold, snow, and humidity. Work may occur in environments with poor acoustics, distractions, or high activity levels.
Physical Activities:
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to reach, grasp, and handle small objects, tools, or equipment with precision. Requires adequate hearing to recognize and respond to sounds, signals, or distress in a variety of environments.
