The ideal candidate brings strong design sensibility, technical expertise, and the ability to translate design intent into thoughtful, coordinated, and constructible solutions. Responsibilities Lead the architectural and technical development of healthcare projects through all phases, from concept and design through construction administration and closeout Translate design concepts and client goals into coordinated, technically sound, and constructible architectural solutions Collaborate closely with Project Managers to align design and documentation efforts with project scope, schedule, budget, and milestones Lead the development, coordination, and quality review of project documentation Apply knowledge of healthcare planning, building codes, accessibility requirements, life safety, and applicable healthcare regulations and standards Participate in client, consultant, contractor, and user-group meetings, communicating technical information clearly and constructively Support projects during bidding, permitting, and construction, including review of submittals, RFIs, field conditions, and construction-related issues Maintain awareness of evolving healthcare design practices, materials, building systems, codes, and industry standards Mentor emerging professionals and support the technical development of project team members Qualifications Active architectural license in a U.S. state Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or similar field 7-10 years of architectural experience, with demonstrated experience delivering healthcare projects Strong working knowledge of architectural detailing, building systems, construction documentation, specifications, and construction administration Working knowledge of healthcare design requirements, building codes, accessibility, life-safety requirements, and relevant healthcare guidelines and regulatory processes Experience coordinating complex, multi-disciplinary consultant teams Advanced proficiency in Revit Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead technical conversations and resolve issues collaboratively Ability to balance design intent, technical requirements, constructability, schedule, and budget throughout project delivery ACHA, EDAC, or other healthcare -related credentials are preferred but not required Applicants must reside near Albuquerque, Phoenix, or El Paso Dekker offers competitive benefits and salary packages based on education and experience.
