Morrissey Associates, Senior Job Captain Morrissey Associates, Inc. is seeking a Senior Job Captain to join our team! Located in a creative hub of Costa Mesa, Morrissey Associates has focused on providing design services to the educational sector since 1998. We offer an integrated project approach in a small office environment and provide opportunities for advancement. The Senior Job Captain is well versed in Autodesk, AutoCAD, Revit Architecture, and BIM management. They can lead and refine the implementation and integration of Revit into the design process, and work with the project design team to advance various projects through the state approval and construction documentation and detailing processes.
Responsibilities:
Production of Construction Documents:
Oversee the creation of detailed drawings, specifications, and technical documentation required for construction, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design intent
Project Coordination:
Coordinate information from all team members including Consultants, Engineers, Governing Agencies, Principals and Project Managers to maintain workflow and schedule
Construction Administration:
Support field activities, including reviewing submittals, shop drawings, and site measurements, and updating documents
Design Assistance:
Assist the design team in preparing design presentations
Leadership:
Supervise Junior staff and interns- provide guidance to support their career advancement
Client Interaction:
Occasionally interact with client representatives as directed to facilitate accuracy and schedule workflow
Project Closeout:
Assist team members in assembling required documentation to close out design and construction contracts Coordinate BIM Model Management Proactive approach and use of new digital and web-based design and project management tools
Qualifications:
8 years' experience performing Job Captain level tasks in the Architectural field on DSA or equivalent governing agency projects In depth knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD workflow Architectural Degree and/or Architectural license Possess the ability to work in all phases of project development Working knowledge of the CBC Strong analysis, communication and critical thinking skills Positive approach, deadline aware and detail oriented Ability to travel to local project sites in the Southern California region
