Senior Job Captain - Architecture A well-established California-based architectural firm is seeking a Senior Job Captain (Ontario and Newport Beach) with experience in construction document preparation. The firm specializes in educational facilities and offers a collaborative environment across multiple office locations in the state. Position Overview This role requires strong technical skills and the ability to manage projects from schematic design through bidding, with a focus on public bid projects. The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating with consultants and clients, and a solid understanding of applicable codes and regulations. Key Responsibilities Organize and manage public bid projects from schematic design through the bidding phase Conduct code research to ensure compliance with the Division of the State Architect (DSA) or other relevant authorities Coordinate architectural documents with consultant engineers to ensure fully integrated project sets Communicate effectively with clients and translate their needs into detailed construction documents Qualifications and Skills 4-5 years of experience in architectural construction document production Strong knowledge of DSA requirements and educational project experience preferred Proficient in Autodesk Revit and Bluebeam Revu Experience with AutoCAD is a plus Familiarity with Microsoft Office Excellent organizational, communication, and team collaboration skills Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings We are is seeking a Senior Job Captain to support project teams in the preparation and coordination of architectural documentation, with a focus on public educational projects. Responsibilities Organize and support public bid projects from schematic design through the bidding phase. Perform code research to ensure project compliance with Division of the State Architect (DSA) and other governing jurisdictions. Coordinate project documentation with consultant engineers to ensure integrated construction documents. Meet with clients and incorporate client requirements into project documentation. Support project teams in maintaining project schedules and documentation standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Architecture required. California Licensed Architect preferred. Minimum of four (4) years of architectural construction document experience. Experience with educational projects and DSA requirements preferred. Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to interpret architectural drawings and coordinate project documentation. Ability to work effectively within a team environment. Work Authorization All individuals hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
Starting Salary Range:
$71,000 - $90,000 annually depending on qualifications and experience.
