Position Overview Beal Properties is seeking a talented and experienced In-House Architect to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing architectural elements of renovation and development projects across our diverse property portfolio. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical design expertise, practical construction insight, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and external partners. Key Responsibilities Lead architectural design and drafting for renovation and development projects Prepare detailed construction documents, plans, and specifications Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle Conduct site visits and evaluations to ensure design intent and quality standards Review and ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility standards Participate in design reviews, cost estimating, and permit submissions Provide creative design solutions that balance aesthetics, functionality, and budget Project Examples 20,600 SF Renovation of a 3 story Historic Commercial Building for Build out of New Restaurant, Bar, & 5 new apartment units in a downtown environment New Ground up Build of a 3 unit apartment building in a Historic District New Ground up Build of a 2 unit apartment building Complete Fire Renovation of a 3 unit apartment building in a Historic District Renovation of Residential unit from Car Crashing into the building Foundation rebuild repair on Historic Home Complete Rebuild of existing exterior stair systems to apartments Structural Framing rebuild for section of Historic Commercial building Renovation and Creation of 4 unit apartment build on second floor of Historic Commercial building Creation of a duplex apartment units in existing maintenance garage building Multiple Commercial buildings with Small renovations to existing building for change of use and build out for new tenants needs Multiple commercial buildings with needs for zooning compliance review and site plans for submission to change zooning for proposed new uses 26 unit apartment building renovation due to fire 100+ small renovations of individual apartment units due to water and mold damage and work needed to obtain Certificate of Occupancy from
City Requirements:
Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture (or equivalent professional experience) Proven experience as a licensed architect or architectural designer (with portfolio) Proficiency with architectural software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building systems Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with local building codes and regulatory processes preferred Must be licensed in the state of MI

  • $110,000 Regular Monday-Friday schedule (8:00 AM
