Project Architect Raleigh / Wake Forest, NC About Our Client Our Client is a well-established architecture firm specializing in high-quality commercial and residential projects delivered through a streamlined design-build approach. Position Overview Our Client is seeking a Project Architect to lead and manage architectural projects from initial concept through construction completion. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical design expertise, leadership capabilities, and project coordination experience within commercial and residential architecture environments. This role will be responsible for overseeing design development, construction documentation, consultant coordination, project schedules, client communication, and construction administration activities while ensuring projects remain compliant with budget, timeline, and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and contribute to delivering high-quality architectural solutions that align with client goals and project expectations. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Design Management Lead assigned architectural projects from conceptual design through construction completion Develop creative, functional, and code-compliant architectural solutions Coordinate project activities with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and clients Ensure project deliverables align with client expectations, schedules, and budgets Participate in project planning, scheduling, and resource coordination Construction Documentation & Technical Design Prepare and oversee detailed construction documents and technical drawings Develop architectural plans, elevations, sections, and detailing packages Utilize BIM and drafting software including Revit and AutoCAD Coordinate multidisciplinary design integration across structural, MEP, and civil disciplines Review and maintain drawing quality, accuracy, and constructability Consultant & Client Coordination Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders Coordinate with engineering consultants, contractors, and permitting agencies Attend project meetings, design reviews, and coordination sessions Review consultant drawings and ensure seamless project integration Maintain strong communication throughout all project phases Construction Administration Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and change orders Conduct site visits and monitor project progress during construction Assist with resolving field issues and construction coordination challenges Ensure construction aligns with design intent and quality standards Support successful project closeout activities Sustainable Design & Compliance Support implementation of sustainable and energy-efficient design principles Apply knowledge of LEED concepts and environmentally responsible design practices where applicable Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field Strong experience in architectural project management and technical design Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) Strong experience preparing construction documentation and coordinating submittals Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and related architectural design software Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary project teams Preferred Qualifications Licensed Architect preferred LEED knowledge or sustainable design experience preferred Experience with design-build project delivery methods highly preferred Commercial and residential project experience preferred Compensation & Benefits Compensation dependent on licensing, experience, technical expertise, and business development capabilities Hybrid work flexibility Long-term career growth opportunities Collaborative and growth-focused work environment Why Join Our Client Established architecture firm with decades of industry experience Opportunity to work on diverse commercial and residential projects Collaborative design-build environment Strong leadership and career advancement opportunities Flexible hybrid work structure Opportunity to make a direct impact on high-quality architectural projects
