We focus primarily on restaurant design, along with hotels, student housing, and community centers. Our work is driven by strong design ideas executed with technical rigor — much of it involving complex NYC hospitality projects with demanding code, DOB, and construction administration requirements. We're hiring an Intermediate Designer / Project Architect to join our small studio and work directly with the Principal.
This is a growth position:
our current senior designer is transitioning out, and the right candidate will have a clear runway to grow into expanded responsibility and a senior role over time. At a four-person firm, your work is visible from day one, you have direct access to the Principal on every decision, and your trajectory is in your hands. What you'll do Contribute to design concepts, presentations, and material selections alongside the Principal Produce construction documents and take ownership of drawing sets as you grow into the role Support code research and compliance; help coordinate DOB filings with expeditors Help manage project schedules and coordinate day-to-day with clients, contractors, consultants, and vendors Assist with construction administration — RFIs, submittals, site visits, punch lists Bring strong aesthetic judgment and a critical eye to every drawing and decision What we're looking for 3-5 years of professional architecture and/or interior design experience Experience on NYC hospitality projects (restaurants, hotels, or similar) strongly preferred Familiarity with NYC building code and DOB filing processes Solid construction documentation skills High proficiency in Rhino or SketchUp, and AutoCAD Strong conceptual, design, and detailing skills Well-organized; able to juggle multiple projects and keep them moving Resourceful, collaborative, and comfortable in a fast-paced small-studio environment Appetite to grow into senior responsibility over time Currently based in the NYC area — this is an in-office roleCompensation and what we offer Full-time salaried position, $80,000-$95,000 commensurate with experience 2 weeks PTO plus all major holidays 401(k) plan Direct mentorship from the Principal, with an onboarding period of overlap and hands-on knowledge transfer from our outgoing senior designer A clear trajectory toward senior responsibility, expanded project leadership, and growth in compensation as you grow with the studio Significant project ownership and exposure across all phases, from concept through construction To apply Please submit a single PDF containing a personalized cover letter, resume, and work samples to .
