Job Description

Are you ready to help shape the future of complex, program-driven facilities? At Jacobs, we're seeking a Project Architect to join our Cities & Places team in Pittsburgh or Philadelphia, where you'll contribute to innovative architectural designs that inspire communities and transform spaces. As part of our growing team, you'll work closely with design principals, discipline leads, and project managers to deliver dynamic, high-impact projects that meet client needs, aspirations, and budgets. If you're passionate about thoughtful design, technical excellence, and collaborative project delivery, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while advancing your career. What you'll do Support the development of client relationships and contribute to proposal preparation and interviews. Assist in developing project work plans, schedules, and design strategies to ensure efficient project execution. Prepare drawings, narratives, and technical specifications across all phases—from schematic design through construction documents. Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure integrated, cohesive, and technically sound project delivery. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and contribute to maintaining high-quality design standards. Participate in reviewing submittals, responding to contractor inquiries, and conducting periodic site visits during construction. Travel periodically to project sites during design and construction phases. What Makes You Stand Out You'll thrive in this role if you demonstrate: Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills across diverse teams and stakeholders. The ability to balance multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining high-quality design output. A self-driven, detail-oriented mindset, capable of working both independently and as part of a fast-paced team. A solid understanding of how structural, mechanical, electrical, and specialty systems integrate within complex facilities. 8+ years of experience in commercial, institutional, research, microelectronics, mission-critical, or transit facility projects. Bachelor's degree in Architecture (Master's degree preferred). Architectural licensure is strongly preferred, but candidates actively pursuing licensure will be considered. Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other modeling/rendering tools. Experience in multi-discipline project coordination, construction documentation, and construction administration. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within design teams and mentor emerging professionals. Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
