Job Title:
Project Architect Job Description We are seeking an experienced Project Architect / Project Manager to lead the design, coordination, and delivery of architectural projects from concept through construction. This role is ideal for a licensed architect who thrives in a leadership position—balancing design excellence with technical rigor, team coordination, and client management. The Project Architect / Project Manager serves as the backbone of the project team, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and at the highest quality standard. Responsibilities Lead projects through all phases of design, including conceptual, schematic, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration. Collaborate closely with internal design teams to produce thoughtful, high-quality design solutions. Guide iterative design workflows from early concept development through refined, presentation-ready deliverables. Oversee architectural documentation, BIM coordination, and drawing production for multiple projects concurrently. Ensure alignment with internal QA/QC standards and office best practices. Lead zoning and code analysis and ensure compliance with applicable permit submissions and respond to plan review comments. Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams, including structural, MEP, civil, and specialty consultants. Manage technical detailing, material assemblies, and integration across disciplines. Oversee production schedules and milestone deliverables. Serve as a primary client contact, managing communication, expectations, and deliverables. Participate in proposal development, fee planning, and construction administration efforts, including site visits, submittal and RFI review, and coordination with contractors. Mentor and guide junior staff, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing. Contribute to the evolution of office standards, workflows, and operational procedures. Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education. Essential Skills Project management Revit Architectural design Construction administration Schematic design BIM Project coordination Construction document 5+ years of multifamily experience Additional Skills & Qualifications Licensed Architect required Accredited professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) Approximately 8+ years of professional experience, with a strong background in multi-family and/or mixed-use projects Proven experience leading multiple projects through all phases of design, including construction administration Strong design sensibility paired with excellent technical and organizational skills Proficiency in Revit and related design, modeling, and documentation software (e.g., SketchUp, Bluebeam) Ability to lead collaborative teams in a fast-paced, design-driven environment Work Environment Office environment with flexible work-from-home options to support family life, although a hybrid schedule is not offered. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Washington, DC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $115000.00/yr.- 2-3 weeks paid time off. Additionally, our office is closed the last week of December
